The Hybrid Fitness & Physio Story

I started Hybrid Fitness & Physio in order to better help people who have stopped doing things they love due to injuries, pain or other physical issues.

 Whether you are an elite athlete with a sports injury or someone with a chronic condition who wants to be more active, the process can be surprisingly similar. We will work together to identify all of the contributors to your pain and come up with a comprehensive plan to help you self manage, recover and cope with or prevent future problems.  Fundamentally, we work together to get you out of pain, become more resilient and get you living how you want to.

We focus on bridging the gap between rehabilitation and fitness, to help people who "finished" rehab after an injury or surgery but were left feeling weak, vulnerable and limited, because an insurance company decided they were "good enough" or a provider didn't know how to take them to the next level. But that doesn't mean you have to have gone somewhere else first - we can start at the very beginning if that's where you're at! We are not your typical physical therapy clinic, focusing on an active coaching approach with minimal reliance on passive modalities.

We clear up all the confusing, conflicting information out there that makes people scared to exercise, lift weights, play sports or be active like they want to, including healthcare providers who tell them things weren't "safe."​

I use a holistic, big-picture approach how to train with pain, prevent injuries and get stronger, faster and leaner. It’s not just about your shoulder, knee or your back. It’s about your movement, your fitness, your diet, your mental health, your sleep, your stress and your whole life!

I have been in the fitness industry for 20 years, working as a personal trainer, group fitness and strength coach. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, board certified in orthopaedics and sports and I am also trained in nutrition coaching and lifestyle medicine.

I have been involved in strength and conditioning, functional fitness and running for over 20 years, and have competed in Crossfit, martial arts, distance running and obstacle course racing. I’ve dealt with multiple injuries myself, so I understand how hard it is to not be able to do the things I loved!

Hybrid Fitness & Physio is for people who are motivated to transform not only their bodies but their health and wellness, and helping them reach their goals – whether they are related to sports performance, injury prevention or simply improving the quality of their lives. People who take their health seriously, and see the value in living a long, resilient, and active life. People who want more.
